Laenso is operated by Gourhit Ventures Private Limited, 808B, DLF Prime Tower, Pocket F, Okhla Phase I, Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi, Delhi 110020, India (“Laenso”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Laenso app or this website, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
We are the Data Fiduciary for this data under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
In short
- We collect the minimum needed to connect you with local service providers.
- We never sell your personal data.
- A provider sees only your approximate area until you accept their quote. Your exact address and phone number are released only at that point.
- You can have your account and your data deleted at any time — see Delete your account.

If you pre-register on this website
Only your mobile number, PIN code, language, and — for providers — your name, business type and the services you offer. We use it to tell you when Laenso opens in your area and, for providers, to help you get set up beforehand.
Who your data is shared with
With the other party in a job. This is deliberately staged:
- While your request is open, every provider who may quote sees only its approximate area (locality and city), never your address or phone number.
- When you accept a quote, that one provider receives your name, phone number and exact address, because they cannot do the job otherwise. No other provider ever receives it.
- The same applies in reverse: a provider’s exact address and phone number are released to you when you accept their quote.

About the Anthropic disclosure. When you describe a job, we first try to categorise it using our own keyword list, which never leaves our systems. Only if that fails is the text you wrote sent to Anthropic’s Claude model to work out the category. Your name, phone number and address are not sent. The text is not used to train any model.
With authorities where we are legally required to disclose it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Location
The app asks for location permission so it can suggest your current address and show providers near you. You can refuse and type an address instead; the app works either way. A provider’s map pin is captured separately from their business address and is used only to decide which requests are within their stated service radius.
Calls and chat
Voice and video calls between you and a provider are peer-to-peer. The audio and video do not pass through our servers and are never recorded. We store only the fact that a call happened, its duration, and whether it was answered.
Chat messages and any images you send in chat are stored, so both parties keep the record. Chat images are held in private storage and are readable only by the two people in that conversation.
How long we keep it
- Your account and profile: until you delete your account.
- Requests, quotes and messages: until you delete your account, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
- Identity and trade documents: for as long as you are an active provider, and for 3 years afterwards where we are required to retain verification records.
- Transaction records: for the period Indian tax and accounting law requires, currently 8 years.
- Pre-registration details: until launch in your area, or until you ask us to remove them, whichever comes first.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may:
- ask what personal data we hold about you and who it has been shared with;
- have inaccurate data corrected or completed;
- have your data erased — see Delete your account;
- nominate someone to exercise these rights if you die or become incapacitated;
- complain to us, and then to the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these, write to our Grievance Officer below. We respond within 30 days.
Children
Laenso is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to your data inside the app is enforced by database-level row security, not only by the app’s screens — the staged release of your address and phone number described above is enforced by the server, not by the app hiding fields. Identity documents are held in private storage that is never publicly readable.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
Changes
We will post any change here and update the date below. If a change materially affects your rights we will notify you in the app.
